What specialties and locations are assignment located?

MD Staff Pointe’s core specialties are hospital based, consultants, and surgery. We place candidates in 49 of the United States. Please visit our job board or apply online for more information.

How do providers get credentialed for an assignment?

MD Staff Pointe has an internal onboarding/credentialing team.  We facilitate the credentialing for every assignment and take care of each provider along the way.  The process is simplified by completing our online application, which is then used to future assignment applications. 

How is liability coverage handled for assignments worked?

MD Staff Pointe provides malpractice coverage for every provider’s assignment.  Providers are not required to purchase a tail or tail coverage. 

How are travel and logistics handled?

MD Staff Pointe has a dedicated logistics team that will take care of all flights, hotels, and rental cars.  We also offer an after hours service for the unexpected travel delay.

How is scheduling and pay handled?

Each provider has a dedicated recruiter who coordinates scheduling for all of their assignments.  Time sheets are collected each week and payroll is direct deposited by MD Staff Pointe every two weeks.

How much does Locum coverage cost?

The cost for locum tenens coverage varies based on the market and specialty.  Hourly or Daily rates are specific to each provider and includes paying the provider, liability coverage.  There are no additional fees charged per day or shift aside from travel (pass through) costs.  MD Staff Pointe is committed to providing quality physicians to your facility at a competitive price.

What is the process for finding candidates through MD Staff Pointe?

Our search and recruitment efforts begin immediately. MD Staff Pointe will obtain the details of the opportunity to ensure we send the most qualified and best suited candidates for your needs. By clearly understanding your needs and the requirements of the opportunity, we can present you candidates for consideration.

How long will it take to have a locum candidate in our facility?

Time lines for identifying and placing a locum candidate at your site will vary based on our current roster, your requirements, and work site credentialing timelines.  We will present you all candidates available after each is pre-screened by our internal recruiters.  Some candidates will be able to start work within a week of initial request while other may take 30-45 day considering site credentialing.

What kind of background checks do you provide?

Every locum physician on the MD Staff Pointe roster has been properly credentialed and verified for inclusion on our malpractice policy.
